Become A CNA Fast

One of the best ways to learn the business of being a NUrse is to start off the field as a CNA. This is probably the most chosen route for either those who do not want to go to school to become a Registered Nurse, or those who have been considering joining a program to prepare for getting a license in the future.

Some of the advantages of becoming a CNA is the training that a person can receive in the workplace without the title. Many who work with nurses will get to understand  all that is involved in caring for and administering medicine and proper care for those who are in nursing homes and hospitals.

If a person has been wanting to get into the filed for a long time but doesn’t want to pay for the course, then the best way to get started is to begin volunteering for nursing homes. Over a period of time the Nursing facility generally offers to train a person and give them all the credit hours needed to become certified.

Other places that a person can get CNA training is through the Red Cross. They are a little more expensive than some local tech schools or hospitals, but they do provide excellent one on one training.

A person that is in the nursing field as a CNA can expect to make far less than a Nurse, but this once again is an effective way at building up a good record for a resume which could be used to obtain a job almost anywhere in the country.

Staph Infections Make Citizens Nervous

World epidemics like the swine flu have other people thinking about staph as well as common things that people get in a hospital. The spanish influenza was the dawn of a new deadly era.

Staph infections have been more in the news lately, but is there any real harm than there was a year or even 10 years ago?

The truth of the matter is that people go in spurts, and are affected more by what they ready and watch rather than what things really are. Wile there were only a few cases of the swine flu affecting people in various areas, people were going crazy buying masks and other things to protect themselves. The MRSA virus is no different. It is not something that is going to kill people overnight.

The MRSA can be bad, but generally when people touch other peoples things that are infected, or get sweat from an infected person is it dangerous.

Roofing the house this week

This week we are roofing the house. My husband yet again wanted to try to do things on his own. I told him it would be better to just hire someone. Traditionally we have always had a regular shingled roof. Not sure what the word for it is, but the same as most everyone in our neighborhood. Its only recently that my husband has been wanting to get a metal roofing system.

I was trying to read up on Metal Roofing Shingles to see how that works, but it looks to even be more sturdy and strong than just regular shingles. Since the last hurricane we have been looking for a way to really secure our home and make it stronger. I know we didn’t have much damage, but when you live in the south it is better to have a more secure home to handle winds.

I just hope we get this job done once and for all so we can work on getting the windows fixed too which have some cracks in them.

Seems like no matter where I look there is always something that need to be done. that’s a part of being a home owner I guess.

Acne affects everyone

Did you know that 80 percent of people now living suffer from one form of acne or another?  Acne is a big social hindrance when it is all over your cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.  It does not only target one age group, as commonly misconceived.  It truley can affect anyone.  The best cure for acne is to hit it as soon as you notice it.  Putting off acne, can lead to the scarring of your skin tissue, and a much bigger doctor bill than you thought.

There are many over the counter products now available the work quite well, but seeing a doctor is still your best bet.  Many times a doctor will prescribe more than one medicine at a time to work with a particular skin type, or with different degrees of acne.  If you do scar, some ways you can Get Rid of Acne Scars, are with creams, gels, lotions, some home made concoctions, chemical peels, and laser treatments.  These treatments can be costly, so as stated before your best defense is to hit acne as soon as it starts to avoid these costly, painful proceedures.

Pest Control or Not

A friend of mine has been having some problems with ants recently in his home. He asked me what the best type of remedy would be to get rid of them. I told him that one of the best things he could do was call a local pest control technician. There are a lot of companies out there that really don’t care as much as you think.

I have a friend that works for a large pest control company, and he has told me a lot about how its a quick service and collect the money type job. This can never be a way to grow a reputation. This is why I have started to recommend companies that are smaller. There are a lot of Houston pest control companies that do a lot better job than Orkin or Terminex, and I think if you just check with others in your neighborhood that you will get some good recommendations.

Whether you decide to do your own pest control or contract it out to a professional, you should always be aware of the health concerns that could develop from chemical. Always make sure you follow labels, and never spray in open areas.

Christmas Eve Massacre

Whether its true or not I am not sure, but we do know that there was a Christmas eve massacre in California. Someone said that a person dressed in a Santa costume went in and shot up a party. We do know that someone went in and shot and killed at least 9 people. But whether the Christmas eve massacre was done by someone in a costume is not known at the moment.

Why someone would go in and shoot people is rather sick. You would have to be a really deranged person to do so, or someone with serious issues. After killing these people, the home was set on fire where the party was. Apparently they recovered a 9th body today, and it is no known whether there were more people who died in this gruesome event.

We wish the best for the families of the victims who are struggling with the loss at this time. It truely is sad that people are less like people and more like animals to kill others like this.

Tom Brady proposed to Gisele

This is one of the funniest stories I have read today. It appears that Tom Brady from the Patriots has gotten engaged to Gisele, a model who is not the sharpest tool in the shed if you know what I mean. While it is pretty comical what others are saying about them, I wish them the best. Marriages have a high failure rate, and this one is just as high as the rest. Two high profile people have a much harder time especially with all the media in their face saying they will fail.

The Tom Brady engagement is not a surprise by many people, but if you read some of the comments on TMZ there are a lot of people saying horrible things wanting it to fail. i am not sure what to tell those people other than to get a life and not wish evil things on people they don’t even persoanlly know. People love to be judges especially when they don’t know details about others.
